Anita’s Kitchen Co. was born out of butter, flour, and memories.

As a young girl growing up in the heart of Alabama, Anita spent her childhood in the warm embrace of the Deep South—where front porches told stories, sweet tea flowed freely, and kitchens were sacred. Her mother, a quiet powerhouse of grace and grit, taught her that baking wasn’t just about ingredients—it was about intention. About love.

They’d stand side by side, mixing batter by hand and humming gospel tunes, as the scent of rich vanilla and browned butter filled their home. But it was her mother’s signature Southern Sour Cream Pound Cake—a recipe passed down, rewritten, and perfected through generations—that truly made their kitchen a place of magic. It was soft, dense, and delicate, with a golden crust that crackled just right. It was tradition baked into every crumb.  After baking they would take a fresh warm slice to her Aunt and they would all three eat warm cake with ice cream and sit and laugh for hours.  

When Anita’s mother  passed, the pound cake became more than dessert. It became a legacy—a way for Anita to keep her mother’s spirit alive, one cake at a time.

Years later, as a Navy veteran, single mother, and dreamer determined to rise, Anita turned that legacy into Anita’s Kitchen Co.—a luxury bakery rooted in Southern hospitality, family, and resilience. Today, every cake, jar, and dessert box honors her Alabama roots and the quiet strength of her mother.
